Partners in healing

Horses have an extraordinary ability to sense and reflect human emotion. At Equine Therapony our horses are not tools, they are genuine partners. Each one has been carefully chosen for their temperament, sensitivity and capacity to build trust.

Manucci

Manucci

Thoroughbred · 10 years old

Equine Assisted Therapy Partner

Irish bred to be a sprinter on the racecourse, Manucci didn't find his form until 5 years old as a hurdler. Unfortunately he damaged a tendon at 6 and his racing days were over. Aware of his amazing temperament and natural kind-heartedness, we took him on to a new life as part of our family and a horse to use as a gentle hack. We retrained him and expanded his social skills, with assistance from RoR and many ups and downs along the way, he never ceases to show how much care and love he can offer. He has really found his niche in life facilitating Equine Assisted Therapy.

Bramble and Blackjack

Bramble and Blackjack

Bramble and Blackjack are best friends, although Blackjack is the boss. Both these ponies thrive on the visits and the affection they receive from the children during equine therapy, and they have a wealth of knowledge to hand on to the children.

Welsh x Cob · 16 years old

Equine Therapy Partner

Blackjack is a 16-year-old 12.2hh Welsh x Cob. We bought him four years ago when our son was six, as he needed a bigger pony having sadly outgrown Bramble. He loves children, though he is quite a reserved and quiet character.
